This will teach me to submit a pattern without proper testing. When I put this up, I'd just made three of them, and it made perfect sense. Not having made one since then, and starting one for a contest at craftster, the pattern is gibberish. If you've downloaded it, note me or comment here and I will let you know when it's been revised and available again. An original pattern that may go to latest contest as a prize if I can remember how I did it.
*EDIT* Okay, so .. I told people it's a v-stitch ... upon closer inspection, it's not. The way it works it sure LOOKS like a v-stitch. Hazards of large hooks and lighter weight yarn. Much as I love Caron's Simply Soft, it fools the eye when you don't work it tightly.
<strike>*EDIT #2* Pattern now available for download, and the terms of use are simple.</strike>
The hat is a v-stitch (if I remember what it's called correctly), and it's more figuring out the pattern of stitches to expand the hat than anything else. The scarf is a shell stitch.
Thanks for looking, though.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

The stripe on the hat looks like rick-rack, is it worked into the hat, or stitched on?
Once again, very beautiful!
